ActiveX VLC Plugin is displayed properly but no File is Played

When using the ActiveX VLC plugin for C# to, for example, play a video, one can easily can come across the following error: The control is displayed properly, but the video is not played and the control can not be operated. Also no error is thrown. But for this there exists a simple reason: New versions of the VLC player expect a "file:///" at the beginning of the file path, if you add this prefix, the plugin works again.
In the post include VLC player I described the inclusion of the ActiveX v1 plugin. This is by now deprecated though, its successor is the ActiveX v2 plugin. Soon I will write a post about this. But also this is thought more for the inclusion in websites, therefore I will also present another method.
